My name is Eric Foti, and I primarily serve as a Health and Physical Education teacher for the Stroudsburg Area School District. I work at Chipperfield Elementary, which is located in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. Both subjects require different responsibilities. These are guided primarily by The Pennsylvania Health and Physical Education Standards.For Health Education, I provide knowledge and skills related to a variety of content areas, including:-stages of growth and development-different body systems (example, skeletal system)-nutrition -health problems (diseases and injuries)-hygiene-making informed decisions- safe practices-handling emergenciesBased on Academic Standards for Health, Safety, and Physical Education Last Updated 2002For Physical Education, I try to create an environment that promotes lifelong physical education while also understanding different concepts and learning new skills. This includes:-engaging in moderate to vigorous physical activity-recognizing how exercise positively affects the body. This included understanding how the activity may impact heart rate and breathing. -working in a group through physical activity-improving in a variety of different locomotor and non-locomotor movements-understanding different ways to move and being spatially aware. Based on Academic Standards for Health, Safety, and Physical Education Last Updated 2002I have also served the Stroudsburg School District in other capacities. I have been the Head Cross Country Coach since 2015, where we have seen significant success. This includes state qualifications, All-Conference, All-District, and All-State Honors for Individuals. On the team, we have seen teams win the Divison, Conference, and District Championships. Along with that, there have been two state-qualifying teams during my tenure. Before being the Head Coach, I served as a volunteer from 2010-2014 and was the varsity assistant in 2014. I also serve as an assistant coach for Track and Field focusing primarily on distance runners. I have held this position since the spring of 2014. As of now, I am working towards a Master of Education Degree in Health and Wellness from the American College of Education. This should be completed in March of 2021.
