We get to protect northern Michigan, a place that is unparalleled in beauty.MISSION: following the core values above, the mission of LTC’s development program is to robustly fund the mission of the organization with a focus on funding: land projects, stewardship, education, and conservation easement stewardship through membership, endowment, planned giving, and events.VISION: Little Traverse Conservancy models for the world how to balance land development with conservation in northern Michigan and inspire future generations to do the same.

Guide membership program for the largest member-supported nonprofit in northern Michigan. Actions:-Design mailings, land protection campaign brochures, & social media posts.-Coordinate and operate the Conservancy's membership fundraising operations. Recruit members for and oversee operation of the Finance Committee (individuals and families that are ambassadors for the Conservancy among their friends, family, and neighbors).-Assist with special fundraisers such as land acquisition, endowment growth and planned giving campaigns.-Oversee and maintain the Conservancy's membership database and processing software.-Assist with the planning and implementation of the Conservancy’s annual Save the Trees Benefit, other special fundraising events, social media or crowd funding to expand the Conservancy’s donor base.-Expand the Conservancy’s one-on-one program to personally thank and get to know its members through special letters and notes, phone calls, personal visits and/or tours of preserves, as appropriate.-Work with the Administrative Coordinator to schedule and supervise office volunteers to help with mailings. -Work with Communications staff to develop and order membership mailing supplies, including letterheads, envelopes, renewal statements, new members cards and mailing inserts.

-Lead marketing, recruiting and admissions for nonprofit semester and summer programs via online, in-person and written communications. Increased enrollment annually in both programs.-Proficient in both Microsoft Office and Adobe computer programs with the ability to edit website in html.-Detail oriented and proficient with FileMaker Pro as an admissions & fundraising database.-Excited to meet and engage with new people to share Kroka Expeditions’ programs. This includes maintaining a professional image and ability to build relationships with students, parents, families, alumni and staff.-Deep understanding of the importance of philanthropy for nonprofit organizations like Kroka. Coordinates annual appeal mailing from creation to mailing to donor recognition.-Co-led first ever capital campaign, surpassing goal of $195,000 to raise $266,000 in one year.-Experienced in wilderness guiding and leads at least four expeditions annually.Actions: capital campaign & annual appeal creation and execution, outreach fair & event planning, professional conference representation, web presence, press release writing, mailings, expedition leading and course directing, and print/online ad allocation. Accomplishments: exceeded capital campaign goal of $195,000 by raising over $266,000 and increased enrollment in summer and semester programs each year.

Conducted program assessment of Hepatitis C services for AIDS Community Resources (ACR).

Provided support to the Office of Instruction and Graduate Studies. Worked with the assistant dean to facilitate graduate students' successful completion of degrees. Generated necessary forms within database for students' files. Led campus tours for prospective graduate students.

RIT is one of few universities that has backcountry professionals leading a plethora of outdoor courses to support student wellness. Created curriculum and led RIT students into the woods for backpacking, mountain biking, and snowshoeing weekend courses. From these courses students learned how to effectively live and recreate outdoors while maintaining Leave No Trace principles.

Created two leadership programs for 12-14 year-old girls, a segment of Camp Iroquois' demographic that lacked targeted programming. Proposed program to YMCA leadership team to work as a contracted program leader. Proposal was approved. Taught two, two-week sessions of the Girls Leadership Program. Shared the program curriculum and evaluation with Camp Iroquois to use for future summers.

Epic is a wonderful locally owned bike and adventure shop. Created a social media presence and added a smiling, knowledgeable face on the sales floor.

Created and gave evaluations to 12 person staff. Also provided support to the Adventure Coordinator for planning and marketing new trips as well as ensuring safe and successful summer adventures.

Naturalist is another word for Educator or Teacher of the environment. Taught two three-hour outdoor courses each day, even in sub-zero temperatures. Helped facilitate successful school groups in their time at Eagle Bluff by working with schools' leadership team. Provided an hour of educational entertainment as Backwoods Buttercup; a lively story-teller raised by skunks! Created informational print newsletters for visitors to learn more about Eagle Bluff's sustainability initiatives. Wrote preliminary plan to create a similar center in Central New York.
