Air Defence Control System: Senior Software Developer• Successfully designed and implemented two Python based software modules for an Air Defence Control System running in Ubuntu Docker containers. The first module orchestrated the start-up of all modules in the system as well as continually monitoring their health. The second module stored and retrieved start-up data for all modules in a PostgreSQL database. In addition to the design and implementation, the work also included producing software requirement specification and acceptance test procedure artefacts in IBM Doors. BR12 search radar: RMS software element leader• Successfully designed, implemented, integrated, tested and maintained multi-process radar management software developed in Python running on CentOS Linux. Functionality included user interface API, drive control, transmission control and interfaced with other sensors like GPS, INS, AIS and IFF. RTS3200 FMCW ORT project: software element leader• Successfully designed, implemented, integrated, tested and maintained a suite of software (back-end and front-end) which controls a high update rate fire control radar. A scope of work which includes software for signal processing, radar positioning, sensor control and user interfacing.Combat Management System integration project: software element leader• Successfully designed, implemented, integrated and tested a project for the South African Navy in which a company search radar was integrated with the navy's Combat Management System (CMS) without any assistance from the OEM. The successful completion of the project resulted in radar procurement being greatly more economical for the navy than before. The software was developed in C++.Update legacy console: software element leader • Successfully completed project for navy where legacy console cabinet was updated with new front end software to interface with existing legacy tracking radar.

Senior software developer for a commercial open-cast mining slope stability radar:• Worked on the back end and front end software of slope stability radar used as a critical monitoring sensor in open-cast mines. Was entrusted by element lead to implement core functionality into both the back end and front end software modules of the radar. Amongst many notable additions to the software was the reduction of radar false alarms by implementing an algorithm from masters thesis into back end software which dynamically excluded unwanted radar data based on three dimensional user defined exclusion zones. The back end was developed in C++ and the front end in Delphi.
