As an HR Trainee I worked as a part of our talent acquisition and competence management teams.Daily talent acquisition work consisted of interview coordination, writing job postings and communicating with candidates. I also got the opportunity to assist in candidate selection and interviewing. I was responsible for developing and coordinating our group wide summer employee recruitments with especial focus on creating excellent applicant and employee experiences. The following fall LähiTapiola was ranked in the top ten of most responsible summer employers amongst large companies. Other recruitment projects included developing our recruitment service offering, applicant feedback practices, employer image, recruitment communication and changing our recruitment tool.My work in the competence management team consisted of helping coordinate and consult in various development projects. Before the end of my internship I was responsible for the knowledge development and leadership of our agriculture and forestry business unit personnel and leading group wide projects.

I assisted Kesko's SME owners in employment and pay related matters. This role taught me a lot about managing and resolving the day to day personnel related issues. I also became very familiarized with the national labor law, service industry collective agreement, social security benefits and statutory responsibilities of employers.

Making independent claim decisions and assisting customers in once in a lifetime accident situations required excellent problem solving skills, communication skills and stress tolerance. My success in this role was measured by customer satisfaction as well as quality and efficiency of task performance.

Amongst daily tasks I was responsible for the training of team members both new and existing with customer experience and service quality as my areas of responsibility.

In addition to daily tasks of taking care of the children, my main objectives included teaching the family English. Communication without a shared language required excellent interpersonal skills and creativity.

My main tasks included researching and cold calling potential new clients. This position required understanding and communicating the added value as well as excellent network building skills. My success in this role was measured based on the amount of event sale.
