> Primary reason for joining: entrepreneurial itch would not go away- Bootstrapped for 3.5 years (2003-2007); venture capital secured (2007)- Grew enterprise value to ~$20MM (evidenced by strategic institutional investment from Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE)-listed company, providing a “mark-to-market” event (2014)- Mentored enabling team of 125 FTEs, 100+ based in the Philippines’ Regional Operating Headquarters (ROHQ), including a software engineering team of 20 building proprietary IP and integration APIs with top players in the industry such as Google, Expedia & Booking.com- Established strategic relationships with flagship technology partners in target expansion markets outside Asia (Australia, Europe) (2018+)- Led crisis management efforts through sudden government mandated closure of Boracay - the Philippines top tourism destination and our #1 market, causing an unexpected 20% drop in revenue with ~6-weeks notice (2018-2019)- Led going from double-digit top-line y/y growth (Jan 2020) to pandemic management mode (starting Mar 2020 through 2021)- In parallel, led family repatriation via Canadian Government efforts (in coordination with Philippine Airlines); my wife, Jennifer, is a Canadian citizen; our 3 kids hold dual Canadian / Italian citizenship- May 28th, 2021: permanent residency granted (to complement my Italian citizenship), hence all 5 in our immediate family have “status” in Canada

> Primary reason for joining: direct superior at Scient joined as CEO of the Professional Services Group; convinced me to follow him to build up the strategy consulting arm of the group> Top accomplishment: exercised lead role in the acquisition of a software development firm in the Philippines; led integration efforts resulting in a relatively low cost, English proficient captive operation> Primary reason for departure: same CEO secured Green Card and immigrated to the U.S.; the experience working in the Philippines built motivation to test a change of course from corporate executive to the world of entrepreneurship, based in Manila, Philippines

> Primary reason for joining: best-friend from ISK (high-school) convinced me to interview with his new employer in San Francisco (pre-IPO Scient); the opportunity (and the offer) was too good to pass up> Top accomplishment: led strategy engagement with consortium of hotel chains (e.g. Starwood, Marriott, etc.) to create a new business model that could off-load “distressed” room inventory; resulted in the funding and founding of HotWire, the world’s first “opaque pricing” booking site> Primary reason for departure: the “dotcom bust”--combined with mis-management from head office--led to retrenchments and the eventual closure of the Singapore office; with 2 young children and Jen’s successful international school teaching career, we decided to remain in Asia for the foreseeable future (as it turns out … until COVID-19 pandemic circumstances compelled the family to find relative safety in Canada)

> Primary reason for joining: hand-picked (recruited) by fellow alumni from IMBA whom joined CTP 2-years prior; post-IPO and in expansion mode, keen to join him and one other fellow graduate (class of 1999) to start the firm’s eBusiness Strategy Group, an effort to upgrade senior level client engagement from the CTO/CIO to the CEO> Top accomplishment: among youngest in firm’s history to be promoted to the Director ranks; led eBusiness strategy engagement with brick-and-mortar travel agency in Amsterdam, Holland - first exposure to the travel sector as Expedia is being spun off by Microsoft (1999) to form the first global Online Travel Agency (OTA)> Primary reason for departure: entirely a “pull” factor (explained above as reason for joining Scient)
