I was a member of a design team working on the West Island Line Project (Contract 704). I designed a temporary cofferdam as part of the Hong Kong University Station on the new West Island Line. I was involved in the detailed design and reporting of the structural elements, including pipe pile wall, sheetpile wall and their associated shoring members and temporary cut/fill slopes and associated soil nails. I carried out Plaxis 2D. I was also seconded for six weeks to the contractor’s in-house design team (Lambeth Associates Limited, Gammon Group) to assist in the design of temporary excavation and lateral supports on Contract 704.
