In this position, I was responsible for staffing 11 United Parcel Service locations across Northern Nevada and Northern California. In this role, I conducted interviews, investigations, audits, weekly staffing, and other HR related tasks. Other areas of responsibly included community outreach and engagement, social media management, info booths and employee resources. In this position, we heavily used Microsoft programs including Excel, Word, Outlook, Workday, Fountain, and Teams. This role required attention to detail, strong communication skills, data analytics, and organization.

In this internship with KUNR Public Radio and the Hitchcock Project, I conducted interviews, produced multimedia based stories, edited audio for the station, and assisted the News and Science Directors with other stations related needs. This role required flexibility, meeting tight deadlines, strong computer literacy, along with diverse communication skills.

As editor, I focused on writing stories, approving freelance pieces, and editing for the Nevada Sagebrush A&E column. This publication heavily used Google Suite products, WordPress, and Trello. This role required knowledge of UNR’s diverse audience, a passion for journalism, and strong writing and editing skills.

As news writer, I focused on writing data privacy related news stories, writing daily summaries, creating and designing digital content for both social media, the podcast, and news stories. I wrote and posted for the Digital Privacy News website and social media accounts. This publication heavily used Google Suite products, Adobe Suite products, Soundcloud, Canva, and Microsoft Teams.

In this position, I created and edited instructional videos and other course aids for students in Journalism 108. I worked closely with Professor Amber Walsh to create visual aids to help with coursework. This position required proficiency in Adobe programs, specifically Premier Pro, Illustrator CC, Photoshop CC, and InDesign.
