Nederland veilig, leefbaar en bereikbaar houden in de toekomst kan niet zonder de hulp van digitalisering. De Centrale Informatievoorziening (CIV) van Rijkswaterstaat speelt daarbij een belangrijke rol. Als directeur Bedrijfsvoering, Inkoop en Strategie ben ik bij CIV verantwoordelijk voor o.a. de financiën, communicatie, inkoop, contractmanagement, HRM, strategie, projectbeheersing en directie- en managementondersteuning. Daarnaast vorm ik samen met drie directeuren en de hoofdingenieur directeur het directieteam van CIV.

Onder eigen beheer hebben we vier vakantieappartementen in het centrum van Middelburg ontwikkeld, die we nu exploiteren. We werken op dit moment aan de ontwikkeling van nog eens drie vakantieappartementen en een winkel in Middelburg.

The Blue Deal is an international program of all 21 water boards, the ministries of Foreign Affairs and Infrastructure and Water Management, and 17 governments abroad. Together we are working to give 20 million people worldwide access to clean, sufficient and safe water by 2030. As program director, I lead the whole and am responsible for the substantive and financial progress of the program.

Companies, ministries and water authorities can turn to the Dutch Water Authorities (DWA) for help with water management abroad. DWA is the front office of the 21 cooperating water authorities. As policy advisor, together with the team members, I ensure that these parties know how to find DWA, that professional work is delivered and that the work is visible to all.

Middelburg

I sought solutions to current issues on behalf of the management and the board. For example, I introduced project management within the organization, was involved in the cooperation between all 15 Zeeland governments and the merger of 9 tax departments. I also set up an organization-wide innovation approach and established joint beach management for different governments. Whatever the subject: the approach is always creative,communicative and focused on concrete results.

Middelburg

Doing what we promise as a water authority, that was the most important part of my job. I was responsible for keeping all of the investments under control. That meant making sure that over 100 projects were completed on time, within budget and with the right quality. And with success: since project control was introduced, the realization of our investments has gone from 60 to 95 percent per year! The work included:- Performing audits- Problem analysis (why only 60 percent realization)- Improvement program - Set up monitoring cycle and monitor monthly- Implementing project management (incl. giving workshops, writing manual, etc.)- Develop project app where everyone can follow the progress of our work- Co-write P&C documents- Assessing credit proposals - Accountable to management and board for investments

Middelburg

As an advisor, I was entirely responsible for the communications surrounding the largest coastal reinforcements the Water Authority is carrying out in Zeeland. This included:- setting up a strategy- stakeholder analysis - setting up a budget - creating practical (innovative) means of communication - ensuring support in the environment (role of environment manager)- thinking along with national policy of the ministry - spokesmanship I first held this position from a secondment from Lievens Communications and transferred to permanent employment with the water authority in 2009.

Starting as a junior, I quickly progressed to medior consultant. Clients included Province of Zeeland, Municipality of Middelburg and N.V. Westerscheldetunnel. The work included: - Advising, setting up and implementing communication plans and campaigns.- Press relations- Crisis communication- Advising on, setting up and carrying out various research- Editing magazines/newsletters - Supervising interns and junior employees within the company- Customer management and acquisition
