Principal Architect

Current

Asheville, North Carolina, Us

As the principal architect at a small firm I am allowed the opportunity to work on all aspects of each project. I help see a project through from schematic design to construction administration. We work on Commercial, Residential and State Construction projects.Within the office we use varying techniques for our schematic design process. They include but are not limited to hand sketching, rough 3D modeling, collages of site images and models or hand sketching. From schematic design we will develop the design further using BIM software, Revit. This allows us to accurately and quickly model all aspects or the building. It also allows us to move quickly into construction documents once the design has been finalized. Our services do not stop at providing you with a set of plans. We will work with you along each step to help you get the correct permits for you project. We will help you with the process of selecting general contractors and sub-contractors. Once a building is in the construction phase we will help oversee the project to completion. My duties in the office beyond our provided architectural services include general business management; Meeting with new and potential clients. Collaboration and management of marketing via website and social media sites (Facebook, Pinterest, Blog-Wordpress, LinkedIn, Google+, Mantra). Printing and collaboration of plans with engineers and consultants.

Director Of Green Building

Appalachian Energy Outfitters

Appalachian Energy Outfitters will provide a free assessment of a building in order to develop an energy conservation plan that lowers energy consumption without sacrificing quality of life. This consultation involves our team reviewing the building on site and then developing customized recommendations for improvement. Next we go over our recommendations with the potential client, then together so we can prioritize and develop a plan of action, depending on the client’s individual needs and interests. We strive to implement energy improvements and an alternative energy system that meets and exceeds the customers’ energy needs.Perhaps the most important aspect of our assessment is that it is completely free and without obligation. Anyone, regardless of income, should contact us if they are interested in exploring ways of modifying their home or building to conserve and perhaps generate electricity. As part of our holistic approach to business, we will help customers explore financing options. We believe we can all benefit from green improvements, and strive to make them accessible to everyone. In whatever work we do, expect skilled craftsmanship and professional service. Regardless of who we deal with or what type of structure we are working on, our clients will be treated with respect and consideration. We want our work to benefit all involved and a client’s happiness and vision are at the core of that equation. Additionally, we believe that local job creation is an essential part of making a project sustainable. The work completed will be sourced as locally as possible, meaning the local economy will be bolstered - another way energy improvements can positively benefit the entire community. Please contact or stop by our office with any questions or to schedule a free consultation.

Project Coordinator

Denver, Colorado, Us

As project coordinator I oversaw coordination of all three divisions; theatrical rigging, audio-visual installation, and lighting controls. I managed scheduling, electronic and paper files, RFIs, RFQs, RMAs, POs and any other internal office coordination. I provided material take-offs from project drawings and bills of materials to be used in estimates. I built estimates and quotes for all divisions. On projects that required drafting or AutoCAD work I would produce any drawings necessary.I wrote the first employee handbook to help streamline all processes within the company. Writing the handbook allowed for WVP to pinpoint areas where more oversight was needed. Implementation of new, adjustment of current paperwork and disposable of useless paperwork and procedures allowed for better tracking of job progress and issues and greater project profitability. I wrote the first Safety Program to help ensure the correct training was given to all of WVP employees. As safety coordinator I trained all new employees on safety procedures, verify all current employees are up to date on training, lead monthly safety meetings, managed intake of safety suggestions and incident reports. The safety program is to be used to help reduce worker's compensation insurance rates. My other roles at WVP included accounts receivable, accounts payable, shipping, and any other tasks that needed to be completed.I also ensured all project and office issues and tasks are delegated to the appropriate person or I completed them myself.
