Accomplished scientist with over 10 years of experience in research with strong focus on data science. Interested in research and data-driven problems with data science solutions related to environmental and human sustainability, resilience systems, or energy efficiency.I have gained valuable experience as a scientist/data scientist/researcher, during my PhD work and postdoctoral position. Over 10 years of experience on research and analysis on a variety of astrophysics topics. Years of experience on project management, student teaching, and supervising. Strong background in scientific coding and visualization. I developed a variety of complex relational databases, as well as data analysis, data visualization and data management tools, and pipelines scalable for large computer clusters and big data while using the best practices in data science. Of relevance, I closely collaborated with SURFsara, the dutch Data Science Center, during my PhD, and worked in a startup-like environment during my postdoc where we had a “silicon valley approach” to our science. There I lead a team of a data scientists and an electrical engineer. During my professional career I gained significant experience on working independently, and on thinking in a critical, innovative and rigorous way to accomplish various research projects. Also, I have been able to successfully work within several international research teams and environmental groups allowing me the opportunity to learn from and interact with a large variety of people. I developed effective written and oral communication skills from those experiences. My strong research, collaboration, and writing skills are demonstrated by the dozens of (co)authored scientific articles, and PhD thesis. The quality of my work has let me present in multiple colloquia conferences, and interviews. Finally, I have constantly shown leadership, high level of initiative, strong organizational and analytical skills, problem solving and detail-oriented aptitudes, compromise and responsibility in my professional life.
