If there is one thing that I have learned in my three years as a student at Chapman University, it is that the world is full of opportunity. A fact that at my age, is frankly as daunting almost as much as it is promising. I have spent summers doing manual labor, I have worked in customer service, proposal writing, and even led as an assistant manager. Yet the opportunity I am most proud of is having spent the last ten years working with my church to build an entire community from scratch in the town of Plan Libertador, Baja California. By simply establishing relationships with the people there. Through that endeavor alone I have had the pleasure of being a cook, a construction worker, event organizer (namely soccer tournaments), translator, and most recently, youth group leader. l enjoy learning about new things while setting challenges for myself along the way and if I can rail against the negative connotation for a moment, you could say that my passion is to become a jack of all trades. However, it is only so that one day in the (near) future I can excel in many different areas, and then find the trick in translating even the most seemingly remote piece of information into the career I chose to pursue. I believe that your organization has much that I could learn from and I would be honored to be a part of it.
