During my time in the Liquid Propulsion group, I have had the privilege of working on more than a dozen different vehicles and flight systems, from contributor to responsible engineer. These programs have covered the range from concept through to completed designs and installed flight hardware.In the liquid propulsion research team working on applications for:- Storable and cryogenic propellant management and thermodynamic conditioning,- PMD and LAD design and testing,- Gas ingestion and vortex mitigation testing and analysis, - Launch vehicle propellant system design and analysis, Pogo leak testing,- Slosh dynamics modeling and testing w/ fluid movement and GNC control system integration,- Propellant tank baffle design and analysis- Pressurization system design and analysis with hardware specification and performance predictions- And generally applied computational fluid dynamics (CFD), thermal/fluid sciences, and numerical modeling.During my time at SwRI, I have also:- Supported the NPSS® development team and am the lead training instructor to new users,- Modeled the RL10-3-3A Expander Cycle engine in NPSS®- Modeled a Turbine Based Combined Cycle engine in NPSS®- Developed thermal ablation models for vehicle re-entry of composite heat shields,- And developed the Neutral Buoyancy Test stand for ground-based micro-gravity fluids testing of PMD’s.I am also active in the technical community as a member of the 3AF Propulsion for Space Transportation Technical Committee and the COSMIC consortium.
