The configuration included the development of artifacts, linking roles, permission management, advanced querying as well as reporting and dashboard configuration for progress and performance tracking.,- Successfully mentored a student who not only graduated from his PDEng with a high mark, but was also hired by PPT in order to continue his project, now fully integrated into the company.
R&D Project Manager
- Led a R&D project funded by CONACYT related to the design of an ultra-lightweight chassis for a high-performance sports car: concluded the chassis design based on previous iterations as well as simulations to optimize its structure and performance; designed and tested a new method for joining together the structural members of the chassis, to allow for the use of diverse materials together (different metals and composites), through FEA as well as physical prototypes; thoroughly documented the design and validation process.- Led a R&D project funded by INADEM related to the design of an architecture (both hardware as well as software) for the integration and implementation of a high-voltage, Li-ion cell hybrid powertrain.- Coordinated the planning and procurement of several development lines of the VUHL05RR, as well as collaborated doing simulations on structural optimization and FEM analysis of mechanical components. 3D printed several key components for validation and testing.- Coordinated the purchase and testing of a data acquisition platform for vehicle development and validation. Selected sensors appropriate for the physical quantities to be measured, and documented the process.

Designed the architectures of both full-electric as well as hybrid powertrains for automotive applications:- Translated the subjective requirements of the customer to objective, measurable and attainable technical requirements.- Designed the architecture of the vehicles' powertrains, including the number, dimensioning, technology and topology of the electrical machines; the chemistry, form factor, series/parallel configuration and safety of the energy buffer; and the type, dimensioning and topology of the power inverters, as well as the safety concept.- Modeled the powertrains mathematically in MATLAB, for validation purposes.- Processed acquired race data from another vehicle to be used as input for the developed models, using both the VBOX as well as AiM data acquisition platforms.Key designed applications:- Lightweight high-performance hybrid sports car, with on-board generator: Extremely light-weight electric powertrain with high power-to-weight ratios to achieve 50/50 weight distribution using off-the-shelf key components.- Light-duty full-electric cargo truck: +200 kg of additional cargo compared to previous generation, with half the charging time and twice the range.
