  • Engility Corporation Formerly Hpti

Engility Corporation Formerly Hpti Jan 2015 - May 2015

Veterans demand our best. As a veteran, I expect high quality service, speed and reduced hassle to access my benefits. As an IT program manager, I do just that. I ensure broadly distributed teams coordinate to completion on a complex, customized software solution based on a commercial, off-the-shelf product. This facilitation leads to innovation, increased velocity and direct improvements to the process by which a veteran is served. We all win when we place the veteran first!
  • Caci International Inc
    Project Manager
Caci International Inc Oct 2013 - Jan 2015
    Reston, Virginia, Us
Leadership is my currency. As a project manager, my goal is to energize my team of 18 on behalf of our outstanding and multi-faceted government client, the Department of Veterans Affairs. Helping install the Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution process for the second largest discretionary budget in the federal government, my team and I work to facilitate new processes and educate our client on how to leverage existing artifacts in this new budget environment. We are both facilitators and helping hands to establish a budget legacy that will help the Department improve its financial forecasting and bring ever more value to its most important stakeholders, our nation's veterans. I believe in the power of each team member, thus I mentor each one in professional matters, ensuring they are trained, not only for our client's needs but for their own ongoing growth and development. My team's reputation is forged upon mutual respect, understanding our client's need and its stakeholders and being their subject matter expert in all aspects of the process we support. I'm proud of my team, and they are proud of their work!
  • Wmata
    Rail Training Instructor
    Wmata May 2013 - Nov 2013
    Washington, Dc, Us
Educating adults is both rewarding and challenging. WMATA provided eager and prepared students. I provided instruction and evaluation to this unique population of adult learners. Many had been bus drivers, vehicle maintainers and other technicians; rail operations is very technical and precise work. Through a combination of instructional systems design, a wide variety of presentation techniques, including group discussions, platform instruction, interactive models and site visits, I ensured every student not only learned but demonstrated their knowledge. After helping develop curriculum, present lessons and evaluate students, I was sure my students were ready for practical, on-the-job training and could handle the rigors and challenges of rail operations. I even wrote a study skills seminar for adults who had been away from the academic environment for decades and would need a refresher on how to study for rail testing, which is the most intense training WMATA offers. Every ride on WMATA needs to be safe, on-time and enjoyable. My students learned the basic principles to provide that ride and had fun along the way.
