• Responsible for installation, maintenance and repair of instruments distributed by Carl Zeiss Microscopy including high end light microscopes, laser scanning and imaging systems, laser dissection systems and automated slide scanners• Skilled Field Service Engineer supporting the Zeiss tool at our customer site, Intel.• Tool Owner and the primary point of contact between the customer and Carl Zeiss.• Provide regular written and verbal updates to the customer and to Carl Zeiss management regarding on-going issues or open action items• Provides technical support to customers, technical managers and application specialists• Work closely with the Service Manager to coordinate scheduled activities, such as periodic maintenance or installation of new equipment and coordinate with the customer and with required Carl Zeiss or third party personnel• Resolves technical equipment problems through phone support and on-site customer visits in an efficient and timely fashion.• Submit Field Service Reports in a timely manner• Experience complex optical systems• Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify root cause• Knowledge of IDE (Integrated Dynamic Engineering) Robot and Newport Stage

• Installation of Nanometrics’ Atlas metrology systems as well as integrated systems.• Global installation and service support for a wide array of Nanometrics optical metrology systems.• Responsible for generating system installation reports and obtaining customer sign off of equipment.• Demonstrated ability to quickly diagnose and repair systems at customer sites, minimizing system down time and impact to customer.• Extensive experience with alignment of complex optical systems.• Capable of aligning and troubleshooting wafer placement systems (stages), including: motion controllers for servo motors, encoder systems, and power distribution systems• Ability to install and align various types of robots (edge grip, vacuum) for exacting wafer placement requirements.• Proficient with N2000 (Nanometrics software), DPWIN (Agile servo control software), MicroE (encoder system software), and KUtil (Kawasaki robot software), Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.• Provided training for Field Service Engineers on multiple system types.• Trained and qualified Field Service Engineers on the stand alone and integrated products.• Introduced a new method to work on tools with minimum tool down time (separation of optical head from the stage).• Capable of diagnosing and troubleshooting 200 and 300 mm stage (X, y, Z and Theta) Pre-aligner, Agile controller, Power supply, Turret, Optical components, and Temperature Control heaters.• Redhead replacement (Sensor that controls X, Y, and Theta).• Alignment and replacement of UV, Xenon, and Halogen lamps.

Reported directly to the Chief R&D Scientist. Responsible for introducing the next generation metrology systems, Neptune and iX-SE. I had the overall responsibility for all optical and electro-mechanical alignment of the system, working with all disciplines in engineering to prove the concept and develop operating method sheets for major assemblies, training and certifying manufacturing personnel plus strategic suppliers on pilot production phase of Product Life Cycle.• Responsible for the alignment, documentation, and testing the following technologies in Opti-Probe next generation products: Spectroscopic Ellipsometer (SE), Absolute Ellipsometer (AE), Beam Profile Reflectometer (BPR), Beam Profile Ellipsometer (BPE), Deep Ultra-violet Spectrometer (DUV), Visible and all Vision optical paths. • Worked very closely with R&D, engineering, marketing, and manufacturing groups to ensure the product is meeting all technical specifications and cost objectives without jeopardizing time to market.• Directly worked with mechanical engineering to verify the technology (fit, form, and function) and the reporting structure of the bill of materials to ensure the product is manufacturable.• Responsible to develop test fixtures for all opto-mechanical and electrical modules.• Worked directly with R&D engineers to measure, resolve, and document the precision and repeatability failures of the Opti-Probe system• Worked closely with the automation solution provider (Brooks/PRI and Asyst) to resolve majority of software and communication issues to improve throughput and cycle time by 65%. • Trained and certified by the automation strategic partner to integrate the alignment Dual Arm Trackless Robot, Load Port, Indexers, and Pre-aligners into the manufacturing released documentations, hence reducing failure rate in manufacturing by 90%.
