My main tasks were to support the operations manager with analyzes of production and inventory data to find areas of improvement and to provide decision support to the department. Furthermore, I developed monitoring tools to measure the productions KPI’s and further developed a tool to measure the consumption and emission of water, heat, electricity, and waste.

During my internship, I conducted analyzes of improvement options for the production with the main aim of finding ways to reducing lead time, inventory stocks, and increasing the level of automation. In addition, designed a proposal for the layout of a new factory in the USA with full focus on incorporating flow and Lean methods. The layout of the factory was supplemented with capacity analysis and plans for how capacity could be expanded as demand increased.

I was teaching assistant in the course Understanding Production in the subject of production engineering. My main tasks were to aid the students and assist the course responsible. In addition, I had the responsibility for planning and carrying out teaching activities for a couple of lessons.

After completing my internship at Kamstrup, I was hired as Project Manager before I had to start an admission course at Aarhus Engineering College. Here my tasks where to examine the possibility of creating a manual assembly line, which purpose was to increase the capacity of an existing automatic production line.

In my internship, I worked with production optimization with a focus on implementing selected LEAN tools as well as improving existing workflows in order to increase capacity. In addition to this, I wrote my final paper about the possibility of further automating parts of Kamstrup's production, in which I searched various automation proposals.

As a student worker at Simens Wind Power, I worked with the development of analysis tools for processing quantitative data in connection with quality management on various offshore wind turbine projects. In addition, I was responsible for preparing weekly quality reports for internal use in various departments in Siemens and for selected partners.I had a wide contact with different levels of the organization, which has given me an understanding of the importance of involving stakeholders and networks internally in an organization. In addition, I have gained practical experience and insight into how data can be used as a management tool on a strategic level and what strength lies in data visualization and reporting to communicate strategies.

As an educational ambassador, I had to represent the production technology education and VIA University College at events such as open houses and visits from various youth educational programs. The main tasks were to present the educational opportunities at VIA University College and everyday life as students.The job as an educational ambassador has given me an insight into what it is like to represent an organization and communicate to both large and small groups.
