I made experimental batches for Tom's of Maine and Colgate Total Toothpaste and performed pH, viscosity, and specific gravity tests on all new formulations. I also participated in stability testing for various toothpaste and mouthwash studies within the department. I was responsible for maintaining an organized laboratory notebook, digital data collections, and a timeline for stability testing dates using Lotus Notes.

I design DNA capture primers and qPCR assays for Region Specific Extraction and create buffer solutions for use during extraction process. I isolate target DNA regions using laboratory equipment and perform Whole Genome Amplification.

I was responsible for batch-making, product integrity testing, data analysis, and performing stability testing for antiperspirant deodorant. Product tests included payout, static and kinetic glide, whiteness, hardness, and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). For stability, products were tested after one, two, and three months in chambers varying in temperature and humidity. Data analysis was generally performed in Microsoft Excel, and results were entered into a personal, organized laboratory notebook as well as LabNet. Furthermore, I upheld all safety rules and regulations for laboratory work.
