My role is responsible for developing and supporting research within the Faculty through a range of programs and activities. I contribute to the Faculty of Education’s strategic direction through membership of the Faculty Leadership Team, and manage the Office of Education Research with six professional officers and three senior academic leads. Our office coordinates the Faculty’s research endeavors, including competitive funding applications (HERDC Category 1 and 2 research), commercial research, and interaction with the Autism Co-operative Research Centre (CRC; HERDC Category 4 research). My role includes managing the strategic direction of our internal research team of 30 academic researchers and coordinating our competitive funding applications (HERDC Category 1 and 2 research) and our commercial research and consultancy projects. In addition, I manage the delivery of education and training activities offered by AusHSI, including health economics and statistics short courses for health professionals, and the development of new postgraduate courses at QUT. As a part of AusHSI's leadership team I share oversight for the ongoing sustainability of Centre, and our engagement activities with other health services research groups, the media, and government.
