Zephyr has developed technology to predict whether a patient will be successful with oral appliance therapy, as well as the optimal setting for the oral appliance to be most effective.I am responsible for managing all aspects of a clinical trial using remotely controlled mandibular protrusion during sleep to predict therapeutic success with an oral appliance in patients with obstructive sleep apnea. In addition to developing and implementing study procedures for patient recruitment, data collection and analysis, I ensure that the research project meets study milestones and grant reporting requirements, maintain records of project progress, and ensure quality of data.

My role thus far with BMEG has allowed me to greatly improve my planning and organizational skills, and has also taught me how to work effectively in a team. This will help me to plan similar events at the University of Calgary and elsewhere in research environments to promote multidisciplinary interaction among students and colleagues.
