I graduated in May 2022 from Utah State University where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Ecology and Management, with a Geographic Information Systems certificate. I also graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Honors College distinction and an Undergraduate Research distinction on my diploma. Throughout my college career, I held multiple internships and positions with organizations such as the Utah Department of Wildland Resources, Utah State University Water Quality Extension, and the Quinney College of Natural Resources at Utah State University. After graduating college during the summers of 2022 and 2023, I worked for the U.S. Forest Service in Idaho and Colorado. In between seasons of working for the U.S. Forest Service, I was asked by one of my former high school teachers to fill a Long-Term Spanish Substitute teaching position at my high school alma mater. From January-March 2023, I taught 76 students for Honors Spanish 3 and 45 students for AP Spanish 4: Language and Culture. Although my background was not in education, I fell in love with teaching. I loved getting to know my students on a personal level; and how I was able to help them along one of the many steps in their learning careers; and how I helped them explore options for their future after high school.Ever since I ended my Long-Term Substitute teaching position, I have missed being in the classroom and helping students succeed, which is why I have decided to pursue a career in education by becoming a High School Biology Teacher. I will be starting a Master's of Education in Secondary Education for Biology at McKendree University in summer 2024.
