I preop patients for surgical procedures by starting and administering IV fluids and verify that testing is completed and results are reported to anesthesiologist and physician. I provide supportive care during post-procedural phase such as maintaining airway, monitoring vitals, and assessing patient’s needs. I also communicate pertinent information with physicians and anesthesia staff as needed, and discharge patient home per anesthesia protocol.

I performed post-surgical assessment, review of history, and communicated immediate changes in patient status to physician and anesthesia staff. I also provided discharge instructions to patient and family, and ensured patient was stable upon being discharged home. I was selected to serve as PACU Clinical Trainer for newly hired RNs.

I provided care to a busy 30-bed critical care unit serving long-term patients. I also administer wound care and ventilation support to medically complex patients, and observed behavior and symptoms and reported changes to on-call physicians.

I collaborated with members of the interdisciplinary team on the renal and gastrointestinal unit to effectively perform patient care quickly and effectively. I obtained vital signs and blood sugar readings, performed venipuncture and EKGs, fed and bathed patients, and assisted with transfers. I performed Foley catheter care, as well as insertion and removal. I triaged patients based on specific needs and assisted with rapid responses.

I extended a friendly greeting to all patients and managed scheduling, paperwork, and office procedures within a high-volume, 5-physician surgical practice. I also handled insurance pre-certifications and prepared patient paperwork for upcoming appointments. This included gathering patient-specific testing and arranging paperwork according to physician requirements.

I greeted customers and offered individualized assistance in finding their preferred merchandise. I assisted the professional team in organizing and steaming apparel in the stockroom. I also processed cash register transactions and encouraged customers to join store promotion program.

I taught undergraduate students about infectious diseases for two hours every week. I graded and proctored exams, and I was available anytime for students who needed extra help with clinical cases between their classes and labs.
