I am extremely passionate about early childhood special education and inclusion. I believe that as a special educator, I am equally a teacher and an advocate for my students. I love working with students on challenging behaviors, building social and communication skills, and differentiating curriculum to meet each of their individual educational needs. I also love that within special education, there are so many opportunities to collaborate with other related professionals in order to provide students with the best care and education possible. Throughout my time studying early childhood education and exceptional needs at Purdue, I have had many opportunities to apply my knowledge of the field in a variety of educational settings and with students with diverse needs and abilities. Through these experiences, I have gained practical knowledge of classroom management, collaborative leadership skills, and practice differentiating instruction in order to meet the needs of all students, including those with diverse abilities and disabilities.
