Not unlike other Millennials, I didn’t end up working in the field(s) I went to higher education for. I worked alongside my father, a contractor, throughout my college years and entered the empowering trade of handyperson work. After graduating the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee in 2012, I found I had fallen in love with working with my hands and already acquired a sizeable client base relying on my services. Multiple times I’ve thought about going into a totally different line of work, but can never imagine life without my clients. The work I do for each client evolves to what services they need and lately many need older adult and caregiving services. Being of service in this way has become a passion of mine. With our country’s aging population and families spread out across the country, I worry that older adults won’t get the help they need on a regular basis. But with everything, one does what one can do to help the situation. With a background in construction and gardening but dabbling in everything handy, I can make the most out of visits to clients’ homes. I've earned a Certified Nursing Assistant certificate from Quality Healthcare Options in April of 2022. I did so especially to help my older adult clients stay safe in their homes and learned the necessary skills to react in emergencies. I also now have business liability insurance for my clients and my own peace of mind.
