My name is Emily Burdick and I graduated from Wheelock College in May 2014 with a Bachelor Degree in Psychology. I hold my license to teach in Massachusetts grades 1-6 as well as my ESL License. I was president of the Honors Program and vice president of Pi Gamma Mu. During my time at Wheelock, I served as a peer tutor, a participant in the Rising Stars program, an admissions ambassador, a Jumpstart corp member, and volunteered for various community service projects. I also worked as a substitute teacher in my hometown, Springfield, Massachusetts and have worked for a summer camp for the three summers in New Haven, Connecticut. I did my pre practicum student teaching in a fourth grade classroom at the Heath School in Brookline, MA and my practicum student teaching in a third grade classroom at the Manning School in Jamaica Plains, Boston, MA. I have valued my time at Wheelock College and appreciates my new found ability to advocate for each and every child. I also appreciates the many peers and colleagues I have met at Wheelock who inspired me and helped me develop more as a citizen of this global community. I enjoy traveling and hope to teach in my country of birth, Ethiopia, one day.
