Since becoming a manager at Accenture, I've had three main roles. The most recent was as a Business SME & Process/Functional Designer. In this role I drove completion of process design deliverables for a major ERP implementation for a large refining client.Prior to that I worked as the Testing Improvement & Test Automation Lead. In this role I led a global team of 6 whose aim was improving a client’s software testing practices. Improvements were introduced by creating a modern testing strategy that gave the client a roadmap towards continuous testing processes leveraging agile methodologies and a custom test automation framework developed by the team. The third role I held as a manager was as a Functional Workstream Lead for a Canadian integration project. In this project we migrated the commodity trading business from legacy systems into existing U.S. platforms (Openlink Endur and custom connected apps). My workstream was responsible for trading contract management migration to new systems. In a later phase of the project I was responsible for data conversion and cleanse.

During my time as a consultant at Accenture, I worked as a small project functional lead. In this position I took on the role of both project SME and delivery lead for several small scale projects at my client (supermajor oil & gas trading client). I delivered 4 interfaces between client’s custom app and commodity trading platform (Openlink Endur). Also designed and delivered 2 custom app enhancement projects to automate manual back-office business processes. For each small project I gathered requirements, designed solutions (with business and developer inputs), tested for quality assurance (string, integration, regression), worked with clients to address process changes related to new solution, developed deployment plans and managed defects during hyper-care.Part of my time at the consultant level also involved time spent as an IT Support Business Analyst. In this role I managed/trained long term IT support resources to handle day-to-day system operations after delivery of new functionality. I also worked with business stakeholders and developers to identify intermediate solutions to defects in production systems (Openlink Endur) and develop short- and long-term solutions. This role also required requirements gathering and testing for production system change requests.

During my time as an analyst at Accenture, I worked on several projects. In the first project, I oversaw an effort to identify and correct issues with client settlement processes, which had created backlog of outstanding payments. At the end of the project we were able to decrease the number of open item by 90%. For each type of accumulated payment, I worked with IT and business stakeholders to identify and implement system tools and business process changes to prevent future accumulation.In another project, I worked as an Operations Business Analyst. In this role, I worked to identify system/process issues with reconciling inventory. I developed new processes, system tools, and training to improve client understanding and performance. In addition, I identified and resolved system bugs outside of the inventory process. To accomplish this I served as the interface between client stakeholders and the project developers. I gathered functional requirements, developed use cases and validate test cases.

At BP, I developed and piloted a ranking mechanism for critical valves. The ranking procedure was deployed across the business unit. I collaborated with operations and engineering personnel to complete this project. The second project I worked on during my summer at BP was to inventory brazed-aluminum heat exchangers across North America. I identified common failure mechanisms and proposed methods for mitigating failure risk.

At Battelle I worked as an Equipment Development & Mechanical Systems Intern. This role involved doing various tasks on different contracts Battelle had with clients. One such task was to design a mechanism which could crush pipe and model it in SolidWords. I also performed vibration testing on helicopter consoles. In addition I design a flow testing apparatus and selected an anemometer for an air sampling device.

As an intern at Shell, I had two different projects over the summer. The first was to create machine performance screens which provided real time/past operating performance information and compared ideal to actual power usages such that machine efficiency could be constantly monitored. The second project was to conduct a pump minimum flow study. In this study I determined which pumps were in danger of seeing rates below minimum flow in service. I worked with a team of maintenance and operations personnel during testing to complete the study and test the pumps.

As an intern at AEP I worked in the Air Emissions Control Equipment group. In this group I updated plant testing procedures for stack emission testing and amine testing. I worked with plant personnel to create a more user-friendly testing procedure. During this internship I also converted Piping and Instrumentation diagrams into PI diagrams (digital screens) that gave real time information and plant operating conditions for continuous monitoring of plant performance across the fleet.
