- Utilize existing software to model a lateral flow assay and design experiments to iteratively optimize cost, specificity, and sensitivity toward the detection of anti-Zika IgG antibodies - Research, collaborate with a team, and perform experiments toward sample prep, assay development, and signal amplification methods for point-of-care diagnostics

- Developed a quality control method for T-cell DNA sequencing

- Use DNA restriction enzymes, DNA ligase, and PCR to insert variable mutations into a known DNA sequence, and test each step via DNA gel electrophoresis - Observe DNA sequencing, practice lab procedures, and present in weekly lab meetings to advance my research and lab techniques

- Taught myself Seg3D, Blender, and Continuity programs and used them to segment and create a 3-D mesh of a child’s heart with HLHS syndrome- Worked with a graduate student and attended weekly lab meetings with the Bioengineering Cardiac Mechanics group
