Enhanced writing and editing skills by writing introductions and teasers for our online anthology.

Fulfilled editorial duties for the literary magazine by researching queries, proofreading, and corresponding with authors. Simultaneously developed and wrote for a project on the blog.

Enhanced knowledge of the adoptive system by working with the state of Missouri, lawyers, therapists, and social workers to provide developmental skills and training for at-risk youth.

Researched, contacted, and reported on various media distributors throughout the St. Louis area involving television, radio, and print media. Prepared math analyses on Comet 4.0 for trial hearings, guardian ad lightums, attorneys, and volunteers. Included court observation and filing for staff attorneys at Juvenile Court building. Prospected new grants, involving a foundation search database and the creation of an excel system for over 80 new applicants, including grant application work.

Achieved leadership development through disaster response, community training, and workshops. Paired with a preschool and an individual child to build language, literacy, social, and initiative skills in young children from low-income families. Implemented a curriculum pilot program for the eight month service session based on research by the NAEYC and High/Scope Educational Research Foundation.
