Emily was also responsible for the public relations side of the business and was required to advertise Hot Yoga Massage daily. Emily created flyers and regularly wrote informational articles for the university newspaper about the business.

As a Style Guru at College Fashionista Emily wrote Fashionista and Fashionisto biographies and how-to's for the Accessories Report section of the College Fashionista online magazine. The College Fashionista process included first photographing stylish individuals, interviewing them on aspects of their personal style, then writing an informative piece on the information collected. Emily was also responsible for providing advice on how individuals could achieve certain styles and where they could find various fashion at reasonable prices.

As a writer for The Captain's Log Emily was responsible for writing the News, Lifestyle, and Arts/Entertainment sections. The News section covers current and upcoming worldly events, politics and elections. The Lifestyle section covers current and upcoming fashion styles and trends, campus activities, and local job and internship opportunities. The Arts/Entertainment section covers current and upcoming films, concerts, and/or festivals. Emily was required to attend various events and write reviews and informative pieces about them.

As a hostess at Bridges Brick Oven from 2006 to 2008, Emily worked with customers on a daily basis, exercising her customer service skills. Emily was also responsible for answering the phones, handling to-go orders, operating the cash register, taking care of payments, and closing our the cash drawer at the end of each night. After her duty as a hostess was fulfilled, Emily moved up to server's position, and held this position for over three years. During this time, Emily became a trainer and was responsible for training new employees, hostesses and servers.
