    Bethesda, Md
As a Post-baccalaureate researcher at the NIH, I worked in the lab of Dr. Richard Proia in the NIDDK, studying sphingolipid diseases. I specifically worked on a team studying the neurodegenerative disorder, Sandhoff Disease. My role was to use CRISPR-Cas9 to genetically rescue an iPSC line derived from a Sandhoff patient. We then differentiated the Sandhoff patient and the genetic rescue iPSC lines into cerebral organoids to develop and in vitro model of Sandhoff Disease. This work was later published in The Journal of Lipid Research.
