Communications Manager
Current•Create and manage external-facing content and communications for social-justice-focused nonprofit theatre company’s programming, including staged shows, educational residencies, new work development programs, and fundraising campaigns. •Manage organization’s Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages. Collaborate with social media consultants to design and produce copy, graphics, and videos; develop, analyze, and refine content strategy based on quarterly metrics. Edit post drafts and maintain monthly content calendar via HeyOrca. Liaise with affiliated artists and partner groups to coordinate cross-promotion and outreach, develop participatory content, and facilitate account takeovers, collaborative posts, and other special initiatives.•Assist press representative in creating and editing press releases and producing outreach materials.•Design and launch email marketing campaigns via Mailchimp to engage mailing list of over 1,500 subscribers; pursue and secure ad exchanges with partner theatres to promote seasonal shows.•Regularly review website and digital platforms to ensure visual appeal and optimal visitor experience. Proofread website and social pages to ensure accurate information and up-to-date public messaging.•Create EPKs, one-sheets, and other materials for fundraising and marketing campaigns. Print and distribute hard-copy promotional materials including flyers, postcards, playbills, and event surveys.•Assist Artistic and Managing Directors with implementing and publicizing annual fundraising initiatives, including “Build With Us” digital fundraiser, AMPLIFY Gala event, and end-of-year giving campaign. Track donors through OvationTix; send acknowledgement letters and report on program progress. Execute in-person fundraising events with staff and volunteers; assist with logistics and supply orders.•Point person for event communications; manage RSVP lists and pre/post-event emails. Check in attendees for in-person events; capture photos and videos.
