This includes a myriad of different duties: editing audio/video material using Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Audition, and Adobe Photoshop to create polished media content to share on multiple online platforms (including Instagram, Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, and Wordpress website), assisting in managing said Wordpress website (including having developed the site with one other team member, as well as managing new materials weekly), and composing/managing the company newsletter (including gathering all relevant information, fact-checking, formatting, and distributing via Mailchimp).I also work on the PR front for Fluent Knowledge, reaching out to relevant groups to promote and market media content for the My Body Odyssey podcast. I keep track of Google Analytics data and search engine optimization to increase website traffic. In my free time, I am continuing to submit freelance, op-ed articles for The Sheet Newspaper in Mammoth Lakes, CA. Show less

I worked for a local, independently-run newspaper in a small resort community during the midst of its gentrification and corporate takeover. The goal was to preserve the “News, Views, and Culture of the Eastern Sierra” by delivering on-the-ground, local news to the area. During my time at The Sheet, I was responsible for pitching, researching, and writing 3-4 separate articles every week in AP style. Recurring topics included the area’s housing crisis, community mental health problems in a health care desert, and op-eds about how technology is changing the nature of social networks- and the nature of journalism itself. Our small, four person team took turns driving from Mammoth Lakes, CA to Ridgecrest, CA to pick up the newspapers weekly and then deliver them by hand from Bridgeport, CA to Lone Pine, CA, a 147 mile stretch in an otherwise local news desert (our former printing plant was closer, but got converted into an Amazon shipping warehouse). During my time at The Sheet, I was also featured as an interviewed reporter on the Oxygen Television show “An Unexpected Killer”, Season 3 Episode 14, about a murder that occurred in Mammoth Lakes, CA whose court trials I covered. I volunteered multiple times a week at Seacoast Pathways, a mental health rehabilitation center for adults in the community living with mental illness, in order to gain understanding about the clubhouse model of mental health rehabilitation and make a positive difference in the community. I worked closely under former documentary film professor Nora Jacobson to assist in the staged reading of her newest screenplay "Lucy Prince Walks to Norwich", the first of a proposed six-part series called "A Peculiar Freedom", which highlights the stories of marginalized historical figures who helped to shape Vermont's history. In addition to assisting in the production, I also helped to create the program, edit the script, and assign roles to different actors.

I filmed, edited, and produced original media content for various events and groups on Dartmouth College's campus to create promotional, documentary, and/or instructional videos. Our team of producers distributed these videos online through the Dartmouth Media Production Group’s Youtube Channel, as well as reviewed media content once weekly to improve cliental satisfaction.

I analyzed text conversations between clinicians and individuals with severe mental illnesses for a study that evaluated remote therapeutic techniques and the effectiveness of virtual mental health therapy. I then coded the text conversations via Excel and provided input to the clinicians to improve their therapeutic relationships by learning client history and translating this into conversation topics that reached clients more deeply.

I utilized neuroimaging and genetic analyses to explore neurobiological underpinnings of resilience in mental health as a neuroscience research intern under Dr. Justine Gatt for her team’s ongoing “TwinE Study” at Neuroscience Research Australia (NeuRA), affiliate of University of New South Wales. The study revolved around the question: if two people share the same genetic code and undergo the same familial upbringing, why does one develop a subsequent mental illness and the other does not?
