Working as a production artist, sampling and producing large quantities of hand painted silks. Each pattern is unique varying in complexity. Some have 12 colors and 4 pattern repeat variations. Other duties include building color binders, mixing and creating custom colors. Organizing studio space, keeping records of all samples and orders. Creating color stories and displays. Working directly with owner to convey brand identity and development new patterns. Finally developing 3 books of hand painted silk samples to move into new design spaces in NYC which led to a partnership with Savel Inc in the D&D building.

Running a team of creatives in the production of a small batch luxury jewelry line. Tasks vary on any give day from creating prototypes, sourcing materials, creating POs, managing production, organizing samples/materials, assisting with photo shoots, social media, to packaging orders. I have created pricing systems, production calendars, and inventory systems. I assist with sales and trade shows. I also manage correspondence with retailers, make sure delivery dates are met and work closely with the owner/designer to ensure every aspect of the business is being elevated.

Working with the hilltribe communities in Sapa, Vietnam to develop sustainable products that will reach a global market. Created a craft center in Sapa where tourists and the local community could take part in classes. Developed a range of products that varied from iphone cases to aprons using various local textiles. Worked to develop a store for sale of products and put together potential partnerships within the community to support growth and sustainability. Developed a partial collection for a museum exhibition to be held in Sapa to highlight craftsmanship and history. Now back in the U.S. I work as a contractor helping with technical questions and developing a web presence.

Working as the Outlet Wovens and Accessories Production Assistant I manage all in season shipments from ports across the globe. I handle any quality or safety issues that arise during production in addition to approval of preproduction samples. I manage each season’s set up for costing. I provide all necessary materials for vendors to begin production including: sending samples, taking pictures of original samples, downloading all technical design specs, issuing purchase orders and sending any development swatches of fabric. I approve any in season fabrics or color issues. I also manage the Outlet fabric and trim library for qualities approved for Outlet only.

Worked as a production assistant at a high-end women’s apparel company. I was put in charge of all SMS fabric purchase orders, negotiation of pricing, lab dips, counter-sourcing fabrics, fabric inquiries, factory visits, and basic administration tasks that were needed for production. I gained a great deal of experience in a short amount of time for the entire development process. Since it was a small company of 10 employees I was able to touch almost every aspect of the business. Chaiken went from solely manufacturing in New York to branching out over seas and locally in San Francisco. My main focus was the local factories and managing fabric orders. I worked primarily with Italian and Asian fabric mills. I organized our fabric database and created a corresponding fabric library for easy access.

Worked as interim manager under the area manager during the holiday season. I was responsible for meeting the sales goal for the year’s end and exceeded the sales plan. Cultivated the sales team at the flagship location, scheduled employees, monthly reconciliations and maintained store branding/merchandising. Worked with design team to make purchasing and creative decisions that would compliment the customer demographic. Most importantly, I managed customer relations during a transition period and made certain that there store experience was the most helpful, enjoyable and overall best customer service available.

Managed the bakery team, which included scheduling, planning events, creating new recipes and opening the bakery. I also taught a monthly baking class. Some of the events I planned included a launch of Tesla motors IPO, Yelp fundraiser, Moscone Center fundraiser, Outside Lands and Treasure Island VIP tent.

Facilitated a new business membership tier, which I was given as a personal project to work on independently. I tripled enrollment in a month. Got donations for first Fridays opening art exhibits. Worked with a customized fundraising database. Set up and ran special events. Worked on setting up promotional sendings, using Photoshop and Indesign.
