The Brumbaugh laboratory researches how epigentic mechanisms such as methlyation of histone tails affect cell fate change. As an assistant I perform general lab duties such as making solutions, genotyping mice, gibson cloning and performing restriction digests of plasmids. I am also currently working on a project to insert the KH2 system which allows for single-copy tetracycline inducible gene expression into human embryonic stem cells.

As the phenotypic intern at Eurofins Panlabs, I worked mainly in the OncoPanel group. I performed cell culture with cancer cell lines with aseptic technique, completed viability and proliferation assays with client compounds and supported OncoPanel by making automation solutions and growth media For my independent research project I created a catalog of cancer cell lines available for large cell banking projects
