Worked closely with the Surgical Management Team to try and meet guidelines and targets set by the Welsh Government. Follow-Up waiting list management as well as patient validation through the 4 stages of surgery when they are referred in. Worked closely with secretaries and the consultants to ensure plans were in place for patients following diagnostics/studies. Completed reports through the IRIS system where duplicate patient entries were found and also missing outcomes for patients were highlighted. Complete validation of patients in surgery stages 2-4 and following this patients through to surgery completion. Ensuring secretaries were aware of any patients that needed plans in place and patients that might have been missed through incorrect outcomes. Extensive use of Microsoft Excel with formulas and large data sets.

Worked closely with paediatric/adult audiology as well as the North Wales Cochlear Implant Programme. Processing new referrals, booking appointments, extensive knowledge of hospital software systems. Close patient contact and on occasion fixing of the external processors of patients when needed. Gained first hand experience in medical administration which i was able to relate back to my NVQ in medical administration as well as completing my NVQ in business administration whilst in this post. I dealt with managing waiting lists as well for pre and post operative cochlear implant patients as well as waiting lists for paediatric patients for differing community hospitals. Towards the end of my role within Audiology i was the administration for Learning Disabilities and Dementia patients across Betsi Audiology and would deal with the referrals that came through as well as managing the review waiting list and ensuring patients were booked in where appropriate and with appropriate clinicians.
