The Catalytic Capital Consortium is an investment, learning, and market development initiative conceived by the MacArthur Foundation. Its aim is to increase the use of catalytic capital globally, based on the belief that in order to make real progress toward a more just, equitable and resilient world, we need more finance and investment that is purposefully inclusive, innovative and catalytic.

Resource Generation organizes young people with wealth and class privilege towards the equitable distribution of land, wealth and power. As a board member, I have supported the development of strategies around resource mobilization to grassroots social movements, with a particular emphasis on building organizational strategy around movement-aligned investing.

Coordinated the Just City Assembly, a gathering in April 2019 of 40 designers, academics and advocates focused on building a vision for coordinated strategy to advance justice around the country. Then collaborated with Professor Toni Griffin on a publication synthesizing and summarizing key takeaways from the gathering, as well as new insights for building the just city.

Seeded participatory budgeting at the Graduate School of Design through a pilot program and educational series.

Built a curriculum on economic democracy and evolved a proposal for a $130 million Bronx Fund to build organizational economic self-sufficiency and seed key community wealth-building initiatives.

- Managed the community grantmaking processes at Crossroads Fund, awarding over $2.5 million to organizations which use community organizing to advance racial, social and economic justice.- Coordinated and co-facilitated the Giving Project, a 6-month process of political education around race and class, fundraising and grantmaking with a multiracial, cross-class, intergenerational cohort each year.- Lead the planning process for and implementation of Technical Assistance Workshops, Grantee Convenings and Movement Strategy Sessions, all of which provided capacity-building support to grantees.

- Researched and wrote concept paper on need for large-scale youth employment program for disconnected youth, with national programmatic and policy recommendations based on best practice research.- Conducted quantitative analysis of census data on areas with concentrated poverty, examining geographic patterns, as well as numbers of women and youth impacted. Results were used to inform policy recommendations around reinvestment.

- Drafted and edited the climate change, revenue, and reinvestment sections of the policy platform for the Center’s Putting Families First, Good Jobs for All Campaign.- Created a series of popular education trainings for staff and partners focused on the campaign policy recommendations. - Provided research support to the policy team and national campaign partners. Key projects focused best practices in Community Benefits Agreements and evolving a race and gender analysis with the Mass Incarceration Team.

Served as one of 16 Emerson National Hunger Fellows selected from a national applicant pool. The fellowship combines community-based work and national public policy experience. My two program placements are detailed separately.

- Helped develop the nascent Parent Engagement Institute by strengthening curriculum and developing materials for their nationally recognized leadership development model for community organizing and parent engagement in schools.- Researched and documented status of parent engagement funding in Illinois Public Schools, wrote a 15-page policy report.

- Managed all outreach efforts, specifically by building networks with 15+ partner organizations within the city and eight partner organizations in rural areas to maximize regional impact. Engaged new communities in programming, particularly through building relationships with youth organizations and communities of color in Minneapolis.- Collaborated on development of yearlong Apprenticeship Program and Advanced Design Program and supported yearly Urban Farming Certification Program. Developed membership program to increase financial sustainability of organization.
