As the Vice President of Science, Research, and Development my role is to bring advanced techniques and understanding of the science of landfill diversion/waste management practices and the role Renovare/BioHiTech plays in the sustainability arena. I work with Operations personnel to identify new approaches to enhance sustainable food waste disposal practices through the use of the Revolution Series aerobic food waste digesters. I also identify new technologies that broaden Renovare/BioHiTech’s market in the waste technology/waste management arena. I manage the MSW to Fuel production at the first High-Efficiency Biological Treatment Plant (HEBioT) in the United States. This is a game-changer in how waste will be managed in the US. The creation of an EPA-recognized Solid Recovered Fuel from MSW leads to landfill diversion, reduced reliance on fossil fuels, and reduced GHG. In addition, I work with BioHiTech’s sales force and clients to ensure that they have an understanding of the science we deploy and its impacts to the environment.

I provide Senior Management oversight at Entsorga West Virginia. Have been involved in the project since its inception. Obtain all of the required permits and continue coordination activities with Federal, State and local regulators, as well as with construction contractors. Have worked with WV State Legislators to pass critical legislation that enabled EWV to operate as a manufacturing company vs a waste company. In addition, I manage a team that conducts the day-to-day operations of the facility. Management oversight includes budget, staffing, customer relations, and legal issues.

Oversee the development of a robust safety program with a leading waste hauler in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Responsibilities include the development of Safety and Operational Policies and Procedures, obtaining proper insurance coverage, developing and overseeing a facility assessment program and a significant safety bonus program. Responsible for obtaining proper environmental permits for facility compliance, MRF reporting, and transfer station operations.
