Global Migration Epidemiologist Ii
CurrentEpidemiologist supporting the collection, analysis, interpretation and investigation of epidemiological and statistical data to monitor health trends of humanitarian immigrants arriving in Maryland. - Monitor and evaluate mental health screening data of humanitarian immigrant arrivals; includes descriptive summaries, conducting additional analysis for special populations, and recommendations for improving utilization of mental health services- Organize the development of a mental health training curriculum for over 60 resettlement agency professionals- Mentor graduate medical student in project conducting a mental health training needs assessment among humanitarian immigrant stakeholders- Lead for the certified Victims of Trafficking (VoT) portion of the state refugee health program; includes meeting with VoT community-based organizations, coordinating care at partner federally qualified health centers (FQHCs), and monitoring health screening data- Design data-guided products such as informational materials and dashboards for health professionals and resettlement stakeholders across the state and country using Tableau and PowerBI- Assist the Senior Epidemiologist in monitoring and interpreting health screening data of humanitarian immigrants displaced due to conflict under Operation Allies Welcome and Uniting for Ukraine- Assist the Senior Epidemiologist and MDH Programmer Analyst in alpha and beta testing of the Maryland Immigrant and Refugee Information System (MIRIS) web-based data platform hosted on MS SQL Server- Assist with contract tracing and infectious disease monitoring, including survey design and conducting traveler interviews using REDCap- Associate Member of the Association of Refugee Health Coordinators (ARHC); Member of the ARHC Screening and Surveillance Committee; Co-Chair of the ARHC Mental Wellness Committee
