Salem Sound Coastwatch is a non-profit in the North Shore of Massachusetts that leads the way in protecting the aquatic natural resources of the land and sea. Efforts include organizing volunteers, consulting with municipalities, surveying the coast, disseminating information and educating the public.Currently I coordinate the rapidly expanding education programing to teachers and students. The program focus is on residents of the Salem Sound watershed throughout the year - working with schools during the academic year and in various summer programs. Current programing includes: NOAA Marine Debris Talking Trash - working with a motivated group of teens in Salem, MA on a service learning project to create change around trash in the streets of Salem.NOAA B-Wet - working with teachers to develop curriculum on Watershed Place-Based Education.Department of Education & Salem Public Schools - developing curriculum for a summer program on eelgrass as a service learning topic.www.salemsound.org

Working in the Youth Programs department at the Museum of Science in Boston to support teens and high school teachers. The overarching goal of my position is to provide teens access to authentic and relevant science work and learning experiences.Responsibilities include:- Organize the High School Science Series - lectures given by scientists and researchers to the high school audience. Create supplemental programming around the lecture topic. http://www.mos.org/high-school-science- Mentor our Teen Science Leadership Council that works to create events for area teens such as talking circles and teen only events like "Break it Down -The Science of Dance"- Foster and support students and teachers that are part of the Museum's partnership with Fenway High School. Main responsibility includes curriculum design and planning around student projects as part of the Research and Development class.- Provide workshops for summer interns around science content learning as well as exploration in STEM professional careers.-Support high school teachers in accessing the Museum and supporting their curriculum in the informal science setting.

Classroom Science teacher for 9th grade, taught Integrated Science which is a combination of Earth and Physical sciences. Also was the advisor to the Green Club and to the Class of 2009.
