Emily Fleisher, a Senior Project Director at Advance NYC, partners with clients to steer individual giving, major gifts, Board development, and strategic planning processes. Emily previously guided fundraising for the prestigious Manhattan Theatre Club for more than 11 years, first holding the titles of Individual Giving Manager and Director of Individual Giving and Major Gifts, before serving as their Associate Director of Development for more than five years. As the Associate Director of Development, she worked closely with Board and staff leadership to identify, evaluate, and solicit prospects for special campaigns, including the organization’s 50th Anniversary campaign. By her final season, she and her team were responsible for raising more than $6M annually – including more than $1.3M in major gifts. During her tenure, the MTC Board elected more than 16 new members, half of whom were identified and cultivated through the individual giving program, and major donor households increased by 112%. Before joining the MTC staff, she spent five seasons at Berkeley Repertory Theatre in their Education and Marketing departments. In addition, Emily volunteered time and fundraising expertise as a member of the Project Advisory Board of the critically-acclaimed, off-Broadway world premiere play, The Diary of a Teenage Girl by Marielle Heller, which went on to become a major motion picture. Since joining Advance NYC in January 2020, Emily has provided strategic and fundraising support for more than a dozen not-for-profits in the theater, dance, education, sustainability, and social justice spaces. Emily is a graduate of Trinity College in Hartford, CT, and of the Trinity/La MaMa urban arts semester.
