In addition to her primary role as Organizational Development Lead, Emily leads GHD's Americas Service Line for Engagement & Communications, elevating the skills of our practitioners and enhancing the delivery of Engagement and Communications solutions for clients.

In this role, Emily strategized and executed change initiatives across GHD’s global enterprise. She provided guidance and support to GHD leaders and teams by designing and facilitating collaborative programs that engaged the right people in the right way. She helped bring GHD’s strategy to life by fostering deeper, more meaningful conversations and relationships between leaders and teams.She also served as a Senior Engagement Advisor / Facilitator for GHD’s Stakeholder Engagement client-facing efforts across numerous industries including energy, water, waste, transportation and others.

Emily was responsible for management of the Membership Department, including membership recruitment, sales, engagement and retention of association stakeholders. As part of the Senior Management Team, she contributed to the development and execution of strategic and operational plans.

Emily was responsible for member recruitment, retention and engagement. She was a primary liaison between CVCA and stakeholders in the private capital industry, including venture capital and private equity funds, debt providers, banks, corporate investors and industry service providers. MEMBERSHIPEmily was responsible for ensuring annual membership targets were met and facilitated member retention through the renewal process. She lead the recruitment and on-boarding of new members and managed the Member Benefits Program, always striving to create a valuable experience. She advised and assisted with the planning and execution of Member Events, produced quarterly financial reports, and organized volunteers of the Membership Committee to ensure committee members were engaged throughout the year. SPONSORSHIPIn addition to membership responsibilities, Emily was responsible for negotiating and procuring the annual sponsorship contributions from major partners for CVCA events. Heavily dependent on positive stakeholder relationships, she developed and maintained strong connections with sponsors, and ensured sponsor contributions drove awareness and results. She worked closely with CVCA communications and events staff to ensure sponsors were represented properly across all annual initiatives.

Emily specialized in engaging the public on hard issues, working specifically on projects of conflict, outrage, and high emotion. She was involved in the design and implementation of public engagement & stakeholder consultation processes as well as events for a wide variety of clients in the areas of education, municipal and federal government, indigenous rights, environmental issues, healthcare and more. She was a key individual in the design and implementation for City of Calgary’s Participatory Budgeting project, which won the 2012 CAMA (Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators) Willis Award for Innovation. She designed and facilitated meetings, workshops and events to support stakeholders and clients in discussions on comprehensive and complex projects and developed communications, engagement and evaluation plans to execute these initiatives effectively.
