Led a multicultural team of over 25 auditors across two countries, providing strategic direction and guidance on performance audit direction and potential work. Regularly engaged with high-level U.S. Government and foreign officials, US Government contractors and grantees, non-governmental organizations, and local organizations. Serve as the primary face of the Division as well as the OIG lead for key issues occurring the regions covered. Managed recruitment and onboarding efforts for the OIG’s performance auditors, both at the staff and supervisory level.

Oversaw a range of audit and administrative activities. Supported and supervised multiple teams responsible for conducting performance audits and non-federal audit desk reviews to ensure quality products that supported the mission of the OIG and the work of USAID.

Led multi-person teams to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of federal health programs and to monitor program implementation. Produced reports and testimonies covering a variety of health issues designed to provide members of the United States Congress with information needed to improve the performance and accountability of the federal government.

Conducted research on long-term health care issues, focusing heavily on issues related to the paraprofessional health workforce. Played a key role in first-of-its-kind study of nurse aid recruitment and retention efforts nationwide.

Conducted research:- On service utilization by pregnant women who are victims of domestic violence as part of a grant reviewing the effects of physical abuse, psychiatric conditions, and health behaviors on pregnancy outcomes.- On policies addressing adolescent suicide, focusing particularly on suicides on school property and the legal ramifications of those policies. Produced a published overview of North Carolina’s school policies on student suicide, a book review on adolescent suicide, and a resource list for school administrators.

Provided innovative technical and programmatic assistance to a network of approximately 85 affiliate nongovernmental organizations focused on promoting arts, education, and learning opportunities for persons with disabilities.
