Since 2005, I have accrued extensive litigation and advocacy experience, and have appeared as Municipal Crown Prosecutor in Alberta Provincial Court and as legal counsel at the trial and appellate level in Alberta, Saskatchewan, British Columbia, and Federal Courts, and at numerous administrative tribunals in both Alberta and British Columbia. My experience also includes drafting, interpretation, and application of policy and legislation at all levels and drafting written argument or advice to clients in a wide array of areas such as internal governance, constitutional law, environmental assessments, construction and employment law.After completing articles at a large governmental organization, I had the privilege of participating in the Canadian Bar Association’s International Development Program, working for a legal NGO in Durban, South Africa, where I assisted with constitutional human rights litigation mainly in the areas of access to education, governmental services, and housing, and assisted in developing a court monitoring program and educational aids for child witnesses. Since returning to Canada, I have spent over a decade honing oral and written advocacy and negotiation skills in a busy civil litigation practice, as legal counsel for First Nations in Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan, and as general counsel for several expanding local companies specializing in construction, real estate development and engineering.
