I am a Biotechnology Masters student with a Bachelor of Science in Biology searching for research opportunities in the life-science field. I have extensive experience in laboratory skills including PCR and qPCR, CRISPR-Cas9, ELISA, DNA extraction and purification, cloning, and more. I have received awards and nominations in recognition of my exceptional academic skills and leadership qualities. I worked as the Co-Chairwoman leading the Saint Mary’s Residence Hall Association to bridge the gap between students and administration and foster a sense of community on and off campus. I mapped the behaviors of virus carrying aphids in response to experimentally treated barley plants. My responsibilities included managing and tending to plants in the greenhouse and the lab, collecting and maintaining aphid colonies, designing a working hypothesis, performing ELISA and enzyme assays, and presenting my findings in presentation and poster formats. My lab mentor Dr. Blaisdell and lab partner Emma Cardinale helped me accomplish this research. -
