I am a Biotechnology Masters student with a Bachelor of Science in Biology searching for research opportunities in the life-science field. I have extensive experience in laboratory skills including PCR and qPCR, CRISPR-Cas9, ELISA, DNA extraction and purification, cloning, and more. I have received awards and nominations in recognition of my exceptional academic skills and leadership qualities. From this, we aimed to gain a better understanding of symbiosis and stresses that cause anemones and corals alike to terminate symbiosis, the process which underlies "coral bleaching.” We conducted this work with the hope of having great applications to the field of ecology and marine sustainability.

Summer Research StudentSaint Mary'S College Of California May 2022 - Aug 2022Moraga, Ca, UsAs a participant of the Saint Mary’s College Summer Research Program, I researched safer alternatives to pesticides through naturally occurring plant compounds. I mapped the behaviors of virus carrying aphids in response to experimentally treated barley plants. My responsibilities included managing and tending to plants in the greenhouse and the lab, collecting and maintaining aphid colonies, designing a working hypothesis, performing ELISA and enzyme assays, and presenting my findings in presentation and poster formats. My lab mentor Dr. Blaisdell and lab partner Emma Cardinale helped me accomplish this research.
