Served as the Independent Environmental Monitor (IEM) during the excavation and construction of a 48-story, residential building in Manhattan, NY. Provided community (perimeter) air and noise monitoring, oversaw the implementation of required Construction Mitigation Measures and documented compliance in written monthly reports submitted to the New York City Departments of City Planning and Environmental Protection.Conducted a Community Air Monitoring Program (CAMP) ensuring the health and safety of surrounding communities by monitoring the air quality at a work site during demolition activities at the former Kings Park Psychiatric Center. Responsible for daily set up, implementation, maintenance, monitoring, and calibration of 8 to 12 monitoring stations with air sampling equipment including: Dusttrak Aerosol Monitors, Mini Rae 2000 Photo Ionization Detectors (PID), and sound level meters. Analyzed and interpreted CAMP data and completed daily field activity reports and monthly periodic status reports on air quality and site progress.Conducted a Storm Water Investigation of several stormwater conveyance points throughout a watershed in order to determine possible sources of illicit discharge. Conducted weekly sampling of multiple discharge points, analyzed laboratory data and prepared letter reports documenting results and making recommendations to local governments and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.Conducted groundwater sampling at a remediated Landfill. Responsible for collecting samples from over 100 groundwater wells, leachate chambers, and surface water locations in order to track a leachate-contaminated groundwater plume. Monitored and recorded field parameters using a Horiba multi-parameter water quality meter. Conducted appropriate field sampling procedures such as decontamination measures and quality assurance/quality control measures.

Educated the public and students (ages 10 – 18) about estuaries and their ecological significance aboard the Atlantis Marine World’s explorer tour boat. Introduced ecological concepts through hands on investigation, scientific observations, fish seining and guided field walks.

Participated in ecological resource assessments for municipal and private entities including wetland delineations, environmental site assessments, and plant and wildlife surveys.Prepared Parts 1, 2, and 3 Environmental Assessment Forms, Negative Declarations and Resolutions for SEQRA compliance.Completed State, Federal, and Local Permits, Phase I Environmental Assessments, and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans.

Worked with the Long Island Sound Study, part of the EPA's National Estuary Program. Developed a fish passage assessment protocol.Gathered data on land acquisitions in the Long Island Sound Watershed for EPA reporting. Collected baseline data for a dike removal project at Sunken Meadow State Park.
