Compiling data for the UDS, MU, OSHPD, and PQRS reports, matching encounters with claims for billing, and any other tasks such as translating, submitting referrals, and inputting missing patient demographics.

Coaches work with patients with the following chronic conditions: prediabetes, diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia and/or obesity. Coaches are assigned tasks ranging from patient motivation and goal setting to shadowing opportunities in the clinic. Patient population is diverse and underserved.

Rotated in different departments. Shadowing, conversing with patients (in Spanish), and learning. Focused mostly on trauma, emergency medicine, and orthopedics.

Helped Project Leaders gather data by learning their study-specific protocols. Applied scalp and facial electrodes, ran the sleep recording program, took vital signs, collected urine and saliva samples, maintained environment free of time cues, served meals, and communicated with nurses and doctors about the subjects’ health. Worked a rotating schedule (two weeks of day shifts and two weeks of over- night shifts).
