I serve as the Director of Student Disability Services working with students in the Health Professions School as well as the MD program in obtaining academic accommodations.

• Meet with students individually, both remotely and in-person, to engage in an interactive collaborative process of determining appropriate accommodations in accordance with ADA, ADAAA, and Sections 504/508• Utilize best practices when working with instructors to ensure continuity of services received • Continuously review student progress and advise on how to improve quality of work and success for students with disabilities• Create accessible forms for internal and external use• Managed completion of student success initiative, increased completion by over 100% in single semester• Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to coordinating “on the fly” accommodations for special events, participation in community events to promote the college and SAIL department, presentations for students, staff, faculty, and community members educating on disability services in higher education

• Organize individualized events based on operational needs• Create internal and external job postings to attract qualified candidates • Review applications for most suited candidates • Pre-screen and interview possible applicants as well as pre-employment processing including background check, drug screening, and reference checks

• Communicate and counsel employees about available benefits including Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Short and Long-Term Disability, and supplemental products. Communication with plan carriers and Insurance Broker during open enrollment and throughout the plan year • Monthly calculations used to determine benefit eligible employees based on the Affordable Care Act requirements as well as monthly billing reconciliation for all benefits• Additional responsibilities included facilitating all training for new hires in the Central Florida area, employee relations, processing of separations, and leave of absence administration including FMLA and employee personal leaves
