After graduating from college in 2019, I took some time to decide what I wanted to do with my journalism degree. While considering my options, I pursued one of my favorite hobbies and worked as a portrait photographer. A year later I found myself working in digital marketing--a field I had never considered as a career path. Getting my hands into the digital content creation world, I began writing blogs, advertisements, emails, social posts, and video scripts for clients who needed help boosting their digital presence. Here I learned about SEO, funnel marketing, and how to interact with both Direct-to-consumer and Business-to-business audiences. I quickly got promoted to Copy and Content Strategist and took a deeper dive into the graphic design side of digital marketing, as well as managing projects and communicating with clients directly. In college, I took classes in graphic design, video editing and, of course, LOTS of writing. I volunteered as a copy editor for my school newspaper for three years and found a passion in checking for stylistic and grammatical errors--exciting, right? One of my favorite writing-related activities in college was reviewing, editing, and providing feedback on academic papers for classmates and friends. Writing comes naturally to me. I have always had a passion for storytelling and I love researching, then translating that gathered information into easy-to-digest copy. P.S. I'm a fan of the oxford comma, but I promise I know AP Style. :)
