I assisted on a number of client accounts in various capacities, including but not limited to writing brand and mission statements, creating social media content, curating podcast materials, editing written materials, and updating product information. Using productivity tools like Trello, Slack, Tailwind, and Google Drive, and Dropbox, and curating content on platforms like Squarespace, Buzzsprout, and social media channels, I collaborated with my teammates to deliver quality projects to clients in a timely manner.

My primary duties entailed creating content for both of our company’s websites, writing blog posts based on keyword research, and illustrating them accordingly. I worked closely with a colleague to develop social media strategy, and created and scheduled posts on a monthly basis for our company and brand pages on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter, maintaining brand consistency and distinction between the two entities. On an as-needed basis, I handled email campaigns, drafted and edited development updates, created instructional ebooks and videos, wrote press releases, and designed promotional and event graphics. I communicated frequently with both my own marketing teammates and members of other department teams in order to complete projects effectively and in a timely manner. I led company initiatives to support various charities and helped facilitate culture- and team-building events. I was let go unexpectedly due to the economic impact of COVID-19.

I served as a copy and content editor for WHILST Magazine, a literary journal published online quarterly. I worked closely with the editor-in-chief and my fellow staff editor on each submitted piece to ensure that it matched the vision of the magazine and that there were no distracting grammatical errors. In addition, I wrote and proofread newsletters and notes from the editors-in-chief, and occasionally wrote and submitted my own pieces. Together with my fellow staff editor, I wrote and reviewed weekly blog posts and brainstormed content ideas.

I served as the primary copywriter for the launch of a new BCL product line, creating product descriptions and labels as well as blog posts and informational content (brand story, mission statement, “About” page, etc.) for the accompanying website. As I continued to write for BCL in a freelance capacity, my exposure to the scope of the company grew. I worked on editing and writing projects for a variety of lines and products and gained familiarity with SEO and marketing through social media. My work involved the use of Klaviyo, Wordpress, Adobe Illustrator, Google Docs, and other related platforms.
