I am a freelance interior designer for my own company, Emily MacDonell Design. Primarily working in residential condo design, I am responsible for meeting with clients to establish their goals and objectives for projects. I create CAD drawings and 3D renderings to illustrate solutions to my clients possible design problems. Material and furniture sourcing, working with contractors and tradesmen and balancing budget are some of my main tasks. Utilizing my communication and pragmatic abilities I am able to find a balance that showcases my own design style as well as accommodating my clients needs.

I was a sales room associate specializing in kitchen and bath products. I helped run the daily operations of the store, entered invoices, client/supplier payments, credits, bills and returns. I utilized my customer service skills to sell products both in the store and through our suppliers, enabling me to be familiar with local and international vendors. Working as a freelance designer I was able to enhance my creative design abilities, sales and negotiating tactics and my communication skills. I was also able to outsource my own design knowledge and expertise to customers for their personal projects.

I was the assistant to the company head and responsible for completing any tasks required. I was tasked with contacting and meeting clients, creating 3D renderings and selecting material and furniture for projects. My list of duties included answering phones, organizing files and samples, responding and answering emails, and picking up and dropping off files and/or material selections to clients.

As a junior designer and intern I was responsible for material sourcing as well as creating material boards for presentations. I was also instructed with tasks such as site measurement and creating CAD drawings for projects.
