Mid-Ohio Food Collective's mission is to end hunger one nourishing meal at a time while co-creating communities where everyone thrives. Through my role as Grants Coordinator, I have had the privilege to dive into the world of non-profit development and engage with local and national foundations, corporations of all sizes, and local/state/and federal government programs to seek funding for our transformational programming. Additional job responsibilities include: - Project manage and ensure compliance through the entire grant lifecycle in direct collaboration with the Direct of Grants management.- Successfully manager a grants portfolio of over $3 million. - Assist other departments with funding proposal requests and post-award management to include an additional $11 million in programmatic and campaign support. - Prioritize requirements of 60+ grant applications per fiscal year on top of leading the post-award and reporting process for each grant award. - Utilize persuasive writing techniques to engage funders by intertwining the organization’s mission and voice with my own personal writing style.- Maintain effective verbal communication with teams and stakeholders to ensure project efficiency. - Responsible for creating and managing a highly organized, project management board in ASANA to ensure workflow optimization and compliance. - Research and execute strategic planning of our grant funding portfolio to seek new and innovative grant funding opportunities.

Greater Pittsburgh Community Foodbank's mission is to increase access to nutritious food and foster long-term stability for neighbors who struggle. Through my role as Partner Network Excellence Academy Educator, I was fortunate to work collaboratively with the Foodbank's network of partner agencies across 11 counites, other PA foodbanks, Feeding PA, and the PA Department of Health. Other key responsibilities included: - Led outreach efforts across the foodbank's network of 365 partner agencies and implemented recruitment strategies to engage food pantries to participate in the Healthy Pantry Initiative. - Designed and executed specialized health promotion strategy plans, including concepts related to behavioral economics, that supported diversity, inclusion, and cultural competency at 20 food pantries. - Generated monthly health and wellness content (i.e., recipe development, healthy inventory assistance, etc.).- Restructured and streamlined organizational processes (i.e., budgets, data, communications, etc.).- Engaged in change management by aligning key stakeholders and pantry customers to the goals of hte Healthy Pantry Initiative. - Developed curriculum and evaluation methods for the anticipated launch of an online training platform for our community partners.

Chatham University's Eden Hall Farm is a fully operational organic farm which strives to transform the way we eat, from plow to plate. This educational farm is home to a variety of enterprises including land-intensive crop production, aquaponics, hoop-houses, a solar-high tunnel, agroecology garden, orchard, maple syrup production, shiitake mushroom production, and an growing apiary. The food produced at Eden Hall Farm goes straight to the University's Dining Services and to small restaurants and businesses in the surrounding Pittsburgh area. This apprenticeship allowed me to deepen my knowledge about organic crop production.

Worked closely with Professor Mim Seidel, Assistant Professor of Nutrition, to provide academic assistance for graduate level Nutrition and Food Access courses as well as an undergraduate Food Policy course. Simultaneously, I worked with Dr. Chris Murakami, Assistant Professor of Agroecology, to facilitate an undergraduate Agroecology lecture along with a hands-on lab in the on-campus gardens. In addition to facilitating lectures, I conducted research that aided in course curriculum development using pedagogic strategies.

Pittsburgh Food Policy Council's mission is to build a food system that benefits our communities, economy, and environment in ways that are just, equitable and sustainable. Over the course of 2019, Pittsburgh Food Policy Council engaged in a comprehensive research study and developed the Local Food Action Plan, a community-centered approach to a policy roadmap and an action plan of strategies that prioritize healthy, affordable, and sustainable food for all. As an the Communications Outreach Intern, my key responsibilities include: - Aided in the planning process of community engagement sessions which included creating content and marketing materials, arranging childcare and food vendors, editing surveys, and participating in outreach to local organizations and elected officials.- Analyzed research by inputting survey data and transcribing community meeting notes which will be implemented into the Local Food Action Plan policy recommendations. - Participated in facilitation training sessions to build rapport in order to better interact with the community. - Supported team members and facilitators in a variety of ways, including administrative duties and community meeting preparation/execution
