Organic Farm Apprentice
Chatham University's Eden Hall Farm is a fully operational organic farm which strives to transform the way we eat, from plow to plate. This educational farm is home to a variety of enterprises including land-intensive crop production, aquaponics, hoop-houses, a solar-high tunnel, agroecology garden, orchard, maple syrup production, shiitake mushroom production, and an growing apiary. The food produced at Eden Hall Farm goes straight to the University's Dining Services and to small restaurants and businesses in the surrounding Pittsburgh area. This apprenticeship allowed me to deepen my knowledge about organic crop production.
